What is Empowerment Coaching?
Empowerment coaching supports and assists individuals by evoking and developing their self-awareness, confidence and potential to achieve their clearly defined and fulfilling goals.
Empowerment coaching focuses on 5 things:
- Goal – What the client wants to achieve.
- Addressing perceived problems, barriers or obstacles – digging deep into the real issue.
- Personal power – self-awareness, self-responsibility, inner wisdom, emotional intelligence and potential development and growth.
- Creating solutions and strategic action planning – A holistic, practical and realistic approach that is doable.
- Powering through the progression – Support and assistance to refine the plan as you go, sustain motivation and discipline, and hold accountability.
It is a powerful & effective tool that can make a meaningful and impactful difference in a person’s personal and professional life and relationships.
In Empowerment Coaching, the coach and the client team up together in an interdependent partnership where the coach guides the client into a thought-provoking process that allows the client to step up and harness and hone in on their intelligence, wisdom, abilities and capabilities to make their own decisions, create solutions and act on the change they desire to have. In other words, it brings out the best version of themselves by optimising their mindset, eliciting their inner strengths and maintaining their mental and emotional state to be self-sufficient and create the life they want to live.
Who is it for?

- Lack of confidence – doubt, fear, judgement, or criticism.
- Low self-esteem.
- Limiting and unresourceful thoughts, beliefs, values, feelings, mindset, behaviour or habits.
- Feeling overwhelmed by intense mental and emotional states.
- Procrastination.
- Lack of motivation and discipline.

- Staying committed, following through, and completing tasks and goals.
- Trying to be fit and healthy.
- Juggling and balancing multiple commitments or tasks.
- Feeling stuck or not moving forward.
- Disorganisation and lack of focus, structure and routine.
- Poor or unclear communication and language – getting your intention and message across and received well.
- Maintaining healthy relationships and setting boundaries.
- Situational or intentional change – Transitioning and adapting to a new and different lifestyle or life-changing event.
- Expectations and needs are not being met.
… And much, much more.
I specialise in Empowerment Coaching that caters towards people who struggle to live a fulfilling life with anxiety and depression.
Coaching is suitable for people willing to step up and take charge to work towards change. The coach is the catalyst for change, and the client is the creator of the change and takes action by doing the work with their own hands and ‘walk the talk’.
How does the coaching session work?
Each coaching session is one hour and is 1-on-1. It is a safe, nonjudgmental and fully confidential space. Generally, the nature of coaching requires multiple sessions that are held regularly (about once a week). This is to maintain the momentum of the progress. The number of coaching sessions needed will depend on the uniqueness of the client’s situation, abilities, capabilities and performance, as well as the size of their goal.
It is an interactive process where the coach guides the client through a series of thought-provoking and effective questions that encourage them to think deeply and expand their thinking capacity. It also encourages the client to hone in on their emotional intelligence – the ability to recognise their own emotions and the emotions of others. The coach listens attentively and actively to guide the client into a resourceful state that allows them to come up with their own solutions to their problem to move forward.
The coach upholds and conducts at a high standard of service and care that is ethical, professional, respectful, empathetic, and compassionate. This includes before, during and aftercare.
The session is either conducted online or over the phone.
During the session, the coach will work with you to construct a practical approach to strategise an action plan for you to complete after and before the next session. You’ll walk away from the session with some support and resources to help you take it from there.
Throughout your coaching journey, you will receive support and assistance correspondence via phone or email from your coach between coaching sessions to check your progress with your action plan.
The follow-up session will be reviewing and refining in accordance with the result and practicality of the progress.

Creating a better working environment and overcoming work situations from clashing personalities and communication issues to navigating the conversation by listening actively, connecting with the person and reaching an understanding to achieve a win-win situation.
